Replit
Learn how Replit uses Mintlify to turn documentation into a fast, collaborative, and accessible workflow that scales beyond engineers while staying fully version controlled.
partner since
2024Replit is an AI platform to create and deploy apps, used by over 30 million builders worldwide. In 2024, the company pivoted into AI, triggering a 10x growth surge and reaching $100M ARR in just six months. But the pivot left them with eight years of legacy documentation, created for a different product, a different user, and a different era.
Their legacy Docusaurus setup couldn’t keep up. Deploys were slow, assets were unoptimized and slow to load, broken links piled up, and writing a simple changelog could take an hour. Contributors avoided touching docs altogether, even as new features shipped weekly.
That’s when Replit moved to Mintlify. Instead of patching their brittle setup, the team rebuilt around a modern workflow:
- Docs-as-code: updates that once took hours now ship in minutes
- Better collaboration: preview and staging flows made it easy for PMs, engineers, marketers, support, and sales to contribute with confidence
- Built-in components & styling: access to styling like tabs, callouts, and automatic image optimization, right out-of-the-box
- Automated checks: integrated CI and style linting keep content consistent and error-free
The results were immediate. Instead of relying on two contributors for docs, more than 10 people now update documentation regularly, significantly reducing the pressure on DevRel and keeping docs far more up-to-date. And with linting, CI, and instant deploys, each PR now saves 30–60 minutes - a compounding time savings that’s reshaped how the team approaches documentation.
Having this interface that feels like Notion or Google Docs, but is backed by version control, has been incredibly valuable for bringing our team on board.

Additionally, the team was able to ship a weekly changelog for the last year since they migrated, sales reported direct customer feedback that information was easy to find using search, and documentation is now integrated directly into the Replit product and treated as a top-level priority.
All together, these changes turned documentation into a system that could scale with Replit’s rapid growth.
