The Favorites feature lets you bookmark audiobooks you love, want to listen to later, or want to recommend to others. Think of it as your personal wishlist.

Adding to Favorites

Mark any audiobook as a favorite to save it for later:
1

Open audiobook details

Browse or search for an audiobook and tap it to open the details page.
2

Tap the heart icon

In the top-right corner of the screen, tap the heart icon. When empty, the audiobook is not in your favorites.
3

Favorite saved

The heart icon fills with red color, indicating the audiobook has been added to your favorites.
You can favorite an audiobook even if you haven’t started listening to it. Use favorites as a “want to listen” list.

Viewing Your Favorites

Access your saved audiobooks quickly from the home screen:
  1. Scroll to the Favourites section on the home screen
  2. Your favorite audiobooks appear in a horizontal scrollable list
  3. Each shows:
    • Cover artwork
    • Title
    • Author name
The Favourites section only appears on the home screen when you have at least one audiobook marked as favorite. If you have no favorites, the section is hidden.

Playing from Favorites

Start listening to a favorite audiobook:
  1. Tap any audiobook in the Favourites section on the home screen
  2. The audiobook detail page opens
  3. Tap the Play button to start listening
If you’ve previously listened to the audiobook, playback resumes from your last position automatically.

Removing from Favorites

There are two ways to remove audiobooks from your favorites:

Method 1: From Audiobook Details

1

Open the audiobook

Navigate to the audiobook’s detail page.
2

Tap the filled heart

Tap the red heart icon in the top-right corner.
3

Removed from favorites

The heart becomes outlined/empty, and the audiobook is removed from your Favourites section.

Method 2: From Favorites Section

1

Find the audiobook

Scroll to the Favourites section on the home screen.
2

Long press

Press and hold on the audiobook cover you want to remove.
3

Confirm removal

A dialog appears asking “Are you sure you want to remove this audiobook from favourites?” Tap Remove.
4

Removed

The audiobook disappears from your Favourites section immediately.
Removing an audiobook from favorites does not delete any downloaded files or affect your listening history. It only removes the bookmark.

Organizing Your Favorites

While Aradia doesn’t currently support folders or categories for favorites, here are some tips for keeping your wishlist organized:
  • Currently reading: Keep audiobooks you’re actively listening to in favorites for quick access
  • Want to listen: Add interesting titles you discover while browsing
  • Re-listen queue: Favorite audiobooks you loved and want to hear again
Periodically review your favorites and remove audiobooks you’ve finished or are no longer interested in. This keeps your list focused and useful.
Favorite audiobooks you plan to download for offline listening. This creates a convenient “download queue” you can work through when on WiFi.

Favorites vs. Downloads vs. History

Understand the difference between Aradia’s three collection features:
FeaturePurposeLocationLimit
FavoritesManually saved audiobooks you want to keep track ofHome screen Favourites sectionUnlimited
DownloadsAudiobooks saved to device for offline listeningDownloads page (bottom nav)Limited by device storage
HistoryAutomatically tracks audiobooks you’ve playedHome screen Recently Played sectionAutomatic (most recent)
Use all three features together: Favorite audiobooks you love, download them for offline access, and let History automatically track what you’ve listened to.

Sharing Favorites

While Aradia doesn’t have built-in sharing, you can recommend favorite audiobooks to friends:
  1. Open the audiobook from your Favourites
  2. Note the title and author from the detail page
  3. Share this information with friends who also use Aradia or LibriVox
  4. They can search for it using the Search feature
All audiobooks in Aradia come from public domain sources (primarily LibriVox), so any title you find will be available to other users as well.

Favorites Persist Across Sessions

Your favorites are stored locally on your device and persist:
  • After closing and reopening the app
  • After device restarts
  • Even when offline
Favorites are stored in the app’s local database. If you uninstall Aradia, your favorites will be lost. Consider noting down your favorite titles before uninstalling.
