Overview

Musika allows you to download songs and entire playlists for offline listening. This is perfect for situations where you don’t have internet access, want to save mobile data, or need uninterrupted playback.
Downloaded content is stored locally on your device and can only be played within the Musika app.

Download Troubleshooting

Download Fails

If downloads aren’t working:
1

Check Storage

Ensure you have enough free storage space on your device.
2

Check Connection

Verify you have a stable internet connection.
3

Check Permissions

Make sure Musika has storage permissions enabled in your device settings.
4

Retry Download

Remove the failed download and try downloading again.

Downloads Stuck

If downloads aren’t progressing:
  1. Pause and resume the download
  2. Clear the app cache
  3. Restart the app
  4. Check if you’re in battery saver mode (can limit background downloads)

Missing Downloads

If previously downloaded songs are missing:
  1. Check if automatic cleanup is enabled and removed them
  2. Verify downloads weren’t deleted when clearing app data
  3. Check available storage - downloads may have been removed due to low space
  4. Re-download the content if necessary
Clearing app data or uninstalling the app will remove all downloaded content. Make sure to back up important playlists before doing so.

Best Practices

WiFi-Only Downloads

Save mobile data by downloading only on WiFi:
  1. Go to Settings > Downloads
  2. Enable “Download over WiFi only”
  3. Downloads will pause when on cellular data and resume when connected to WiFi

Scheduled Downloads

Download during off-peak hours:
  1. Add songs to your “Download Queue”
  2. Enable “Download during charging” in settings
  3. Plug in your device at night - downloads will complete automatically

Smart Downloading

Be strategic about what you download:
  • Download frequently played playlists
  • Download music for upcoming trips or commutes
  • Use lower quality for background music, higher quality for favorites
  • Regularly review and remove downloads you no longer need
