Patient Portal Guide

The patient portal gives you secure access to your medical records, appointments, and prescriptions. You can book appointments online, view your consultation history, and access your prescriptions anytime.

Getting Started

Self-Registration Process

Access Registration Page

Complete Registration Form

Fill in your account details:
  • Name: Your full legal name
  • Email Address: Must be unique (this will be your login username)
  • Password: Minimum 8 characters
  • Password Confirmation: Re-enter your password

Verify Email

After registering:
  • Check your email inbox
  • Click the verification link sent to your email
  • This confirms your email address and activates your account
If you don’t see the email, check your spam folder

Complete Your Profile

Important: You must have a patient record created by clinic staff before you can use most portal features.
After email verification:
  • Contact the clinic to have staff create your patient record
  • Staff will link your account to your medical records
  • Once linked, you’ll have full access to portal features

Logging In

Go to Login Page

Click Login on the homepage

Enter Credentials

  • Email: Your registered email address
  • Password: Your account password

Access Portal Dashboard

After successful login, you’ll see your patient dashboard

Patient Dashboard

Your dashboard at /dashboard shows:
  • Upcoming appointments
  • Recent prescriptions
  • Quick action buttons
  • Important notifications

Booking Appointments Online

Book appointments directly through the patient portal without calling the clinic.

Checking Doctor Availability

Navigate to Book Appointment

Click Book Appointment from the main menu or dashboardThis takes you to /book-appointment

Select a Doctor

Choose which doctor you want to see from the dropdown list
Each doctor has their own availability schedule configured in the system

Choose a Date

View Available Time Slots

After selecting a doctor and date, the system displays:
  • Available slots: Time slots shown in green that you can book
  • Occupied slots: Grayed out times that are already booked
  • Past times: Unavailable if earlier than current time
Time slots are typically in 30-minute intervals (e.g., 9:00, 9:30, 10:00)
If no slots appear, the doctor may not be working on that day. Try a different date or doctor.

Completing Your Booking

Select Time Slot

Click on an available (green) time slot

Add Appointment Details

  • Reason for Visit: Brief description of why you need to see the doctor
    • Examples: “Annual checkup”, “Flu symptoms”, “Follow-up visit”
Providing a clear reason helps the clinic prepare for your visit

Confirm Booking

Review your appointment details:
  • Doctor name
  • Date and time
  • Reason for visit
Click Book Appointment to confirm

Booking Confirmation

You’ll see a success message confirming your appointmentThe appointment is immediately added to your schedule and the doctor’s calendar.

Appointment Booking Tips

Book Early

Popular time slots fill up quickly. Book as far in advance as possible.

Check Multiple Doctors

If your preferred doctor is fully booked, other doctors may have availability.

Morning Appointments

Morning slots (9:00-11:00) tend to have shorter wait times.

Clear Reasons

Provide specific reasons for your visit to help the doctor prepare.

Appointment History

Navigate to My Appointments

Click My Appointments in the main navigation menuThis takes you to /my-appointments

View Appointment List

You’ll see all your appointments listed with:
  • Doctor Name: Who you’re seeing
  • Date and Time: When your appointment is scheduled
  • Status: Current appointment status
  • Reason: Why you’re visiting

Filter Appointments

Use the pagination to view older appointmentsAppointments are organized by:
  • Upcoming appointments (at the top)
  • Past appointments (below)

Appointment Status Meanings

Your appointments will show different statuses:
  • Scheduled: Your booking is confirmed and in the system
  • Confirmed: The clinic has verified your appointment (may call you)
  • Completed: You attended and saw the doctor
  • Cancelled: The appointment was cancelled
  • No Show: You missed the scheduled appointment
If you need to cancel an appointment, please contact the clinic directly. You cannot cancel appointments through the portal.

Accessing Your Prescriptions

Viewing Prescriptions

Navigate to My Prescriptions

Click My Prescriptions in the main navigation menuThis takes you to /my-prescriptions

View Prescription List

You’ll see all prescriptions issued to you, showing:
  • Issue Date: When the prescription was created
  • Doctor: Which doctor prescribed the medication
  • Number of Medications: How many items are on the prescription
  • Consultation: Link to the related doctor visit

View Prescription Details

Click on a prescription to see full details:For each medication:
  • Medication name and strength
  • Dosage instructions
  • Frequency (how often to take it)
  • Duration (how long to take it)
  • Special instructions or warnings

Downloading Prescriptions

Open Prescription

From your prescriptions list, find the prescription you need

Preview or Download

  • Click Preview to view the formatted prescription in your browser
  • Click Download to save a PDF copy to your device
The downloaded prescription includes:
  • Your personal information
  • Doctor’s information
  • Issue date
  • All prescribed medications with complete instructions
  • Doctor’s signature line

Use at Pharmacy

Present the downloaded prescription (digital or printed) at any pharmacy
Save important prescriptions to your device or print them for your records.

Viewing Your Medical Records

Access your complete medical history through the portal.

Personal Medical Information

From your dashboard, you can view:
  • Personal and contact information
  • Medical antecedents (past conditions)
  • Known allergies
  • Chronic diseases
  • Current medications

Access Records

Navigate to your patient profile section

View Past Consultations

See a list of all your doctor visits showing:
  • Date of visit
  • Doctor who saw you
  • Reason for visit
  • Diagnosis

Review Consultation Details

Click on any consultation to view:
  • Vital signs recorded during visit
  • Doctor’s clinical findings
  • Diagnosis and treatment plan
  • Associated prescription (if issued)
Some detailed clinical notes may only be visible to your doctors for privacy and medical reasons.

Account Security

Changing Your Password

Access Settings

Click on your profile icon in the top rightSelect Settings or Profile

Update Password

Navigate to the password sectionEnter:
  • Current password
  • New password
  • Confirm new password

Save Changes

Click Update PasswordYou’ll be required to log in again with your new password.

Enabling Two-Factor Authentication

Add an extra layer of security to your account:

Go to Settings > Two-Factor Authentication

Enable 2FA

Click Enable Two-Factor Authentication

Scan QR Code

Use an authenticator app on your phone:
  • Google Authenticator
  • Microsoft Authenticator
  • Authy
Scan the QR code displayed

Verify Setup

Enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app

Save Recovery Codes

Save the recovery codes in a safe place! You’ll need them if you lose access to your authenticator app.

Complete Workflow: Booking Your First Appointment

Here’s a complete walkthrough for new patients:

Create Account

Register on the website with your email and password

Verify Email

Click the verification link sent to your email

Contact Clinic

Call or visit the clinic to:
  • Provide your personal information
  • Complete medical history
  • Have staff link your portal account to your medical record

Log Into Portal

Access your account at the clinic’s website

Book Appointment

  • Go to Book Appointment
  • Select a doctor
  • Choose a date
  • Pick an available time slot
  • Enter reason for visit
  • Confirm booking

Receive Confirmation

Your appointment is now scheduled!The clinic may call you to confirm the day before.

Attend Appointment

  • Arrive 10-15 minutes early
  • Check in with reception
  • See your doctor

After Your Visit

  • Your consultation is automatically added to your records
  • Any prescriptions are immediately available in My Prescriptions
  • Download or print prescriptions as needed

Frequently Asked Questions

Each person needs their own account. However, you can contact the clinic to schedule appointments for dependents by phone.
Please call the clinic directly to cancel appointments. Online cancellation is not currently available through the portal.
This usually means the doctor is not working on that date or all slots are booked. Try:
  • Selecting a different date
  • Choosing a different doctor
  • Contacting the clinic for assistance
On the login page, click Forgot Password. Enter your email address and you’ll receive a password reset link.
Yes! All prescriptions issued to you appear in My Prescriptions, regardless of which doctor prescribed them.
This depends on the doctor’s availability schedule set by the clinic. Generally, you can book several weeks in advance.
Yes. The portal uses industry-standard encryption and security measures to protect your data. Only you and authorized healthcare providers can access your information.
Your clinic staff needs to create your patient record and link it to your portal account. Contact the clinic to complete this step.

  • Keep Information Updated: Notify the clinic if your contact details change
  • Check Regularly: Log in periodically to review appointments and new prescriptions
  • Download Prescriptions: Save digital copies of prescriptions for your records
  • Book in Advance: Schedule appointments early to get your preferred times
  • Use Strong Passwords: Protect your medical information with a secure password
  • Enable 2FA: Add two-factor authentication for additional account security
