BodyWorks offers a comprehensive exercise database with multiple ways to find the perfect exercises for your workout. Whether you’re looking for exercises targeting specific body parts, using particular equipment, or focusing on certain muscles, this guide will show you how to navigate and filter exercises effectively.

Browse All Exercises

Navigate to Exercises

From the navigation bar, hover over Exercises and select All Exercises, or visit /exercises directly.You’ll see a paginated grid view of all available exercises with:
  • Exercise name
  • Brief description
  • Exercise animation (GIF)

Browse through pages

Use the pagination controls at the bottom of the page to browse through the complete exercise library. Each page displays 9 exercises in a responsive grid layout (3 columns on large screens, 2 on medium, 1 on mobile).

Filter by Body Part

Target exercises for specific areas of your body:

Open Body Parts filter

From the Exercises dropdown menu in the navigation bar, select Body Parts, or navigate to /body-parts.

Select a body part

Browse through available body part categories displayed as interactive cards with images:
  • Chest
  • Back
  • Shoulders
  • Arms
  • Legs
  • Core
  • And more…
Click on any body part card to view all exercises targeting that area.

View filtered exercises

You’ll be taken to /body-parts/[body-part] showing only exercises for your selected body part. Each exercise displays with its animation and description.
Body part filtering is perfect for creating balanced workouts or focusing on specific areas that need attention.

Filter by Equipment

Find exercises based on the equipment you have available:

Access Equipment filter

From the Exercises menu, select Equipment, or go to /equipments.

Choose your equipment

Browse through equipment categories displayed as visual cards:
  • Barbell
  • Dumbbell
  • Cable
  • Bodyweight
  • Resistance bands
  • Machines
  • And more…

View equipment-specific exercises

Click on an equipment type to navigate to /equipments/[equipment] and see all exercises using that equipment.
This is especially useful when working out at home with limited equipment or when you want to focus on a specific training style.

Filter by Target Muscle

For precise muscle targeting:

Navigate to Target Muscles

From the Exercises dropdown, select Target Muscles, or visit /target-muscles.

Select a muscle group

View all available target muscle categories displayed in a responsive grid (up to 3 columns on large screens):
  • Biceps
  • Triceps
  • Quadriceps
  • Hamstrings
  • Glutes
  • Deltoids
  • Latissimus dorsi
  • And more specific muscle groups…

Browse muscle-specific exercises

Click on a target muscle to navigate to /target-muscles/[target-muscle] and view all exercises that specifically target that muscle.
Target muscle filtering is ideal for hypertrophy training or addressing muscle imbalances.
Quickly find exercises by name:

Go to All Exercises page

Navigate to /exercises to access the search functionality.

Enter search query

At the top of the page, you’ll find a search bar with placeholder text “Search by name”.Start typing the exercise name (e.g., “push up”, “squat”, “curl”).

View search results

The search uses debouncing (500ms delay) to provide smooth results as you type.The page automatically updates to show exercises matching your search query. The URL will update to /exercises?search=[your-query].

Clear search

To return to browsing all exercises, simply clear the search field.
The search function is case-insensitive and searches through exercise names. Results appear automatically as you type, with a slight delay to prevent excessive filtering.

View Exercise Details

Once you’ve found an exercise of interest:

Click on an exercise card

From any exercise listing (search results, filtered view, or browse all), click on an exercise card.

View comprehensive details

The exercise detail page (/exercises/[exerciseId]) displays:Header Section:
  • Exercise title
  • Target muscle
  • Body part
  • Equipment needed
  • Muscles worked
  • Animated GIF demonstration
Reference Images:
  • Multiple reference images in a carousel
  • Swipe horizontally on desktop, vertically on mobile
  • Use navigation arrows to browse images
Reference Videos:
  • Embedded video tutorials (if available)
  • YouTube videos displayed in a carousel format
  • Full-screen viewing support

Study the GIF animation, reference images, and videos to understand proper form before attempting the exercise.
Bookmark exercise detail pages for quick reference during your workouts. The page URLs are shareable, so you can easily save or share exercises with workout partners.

  • Combine filters mentally: While browsing by body part, note the equipment needed to plan workouts based on available equipment
  • Explore related exercises: When viewing an exercise detail page, the header shows the body part, target muscle, and equipment - click these to find similar exercises
  • Use pagination: Don’t forget to browse through multiple pages when searching broadly - there may be variations of exercises you’re interested in
  • Responsive design: The exercise library adapts to your screen size, showing 3 columns on large screens, 2 on tablets, and 1 on mobile devices for optimal viewing
